Review - Dermalogica Ultra Sensitive Tint SPF 30

I was lucky enough to be given one of Dermalogicas new products to test out at their launch party. I loved the whole range of their new Sun protection products; so it was hard to pick just one. but I decided to try out their tinted moisturiser, Ultra Sensitive Tint SPF30, as I am a huge fan of BB creams and like a lighter alternative to foundation in summer.

The tinted shield is designed to protect you against the suns harmful UVA and UVB rays while also providing your skin with nutrients to help restore it, with an added hint of colour.

Off the Packet: 'Broad spectrum sunscreen with tinted earth minerals helps calm sensitized reactive ...skin...guard skin against UV damage with antioxidants from soothing grape seed and green tea extracts, as physical sunscreens shield against skin-ageing and irritating UV damage... protect against environmental moisture loss, as antioxidant vitamins and botanicals help guard skin against premature ageing and aggravation. free of artificial fragrances and colours.'

The smell of this product is divine! It has a real Beautician smell, of Lavender and chamomile oil, with a silky smooth texture it just melts into your skin. So you only need the tinest amount to cover your whole face.
One thing to keep in mind is that this is a tinted moisturiser not a bb cream or foundation. So it isn’t designed to give you complete coverage, offering you a very light coverage, but it does make for a nice base to your make up if you are after fuller coverage.

Swatch - that small blob is enough to do half your face!
This product also boasts it calming properties and its suitability for sensitive skin, which is perfect for me. I found that there was no irritation caused by the product, even when worn while working out (forgot to bring my makeup remover once, ooops!)

Although I havn’t noticed any reduction in redness overall, this may be achieved over a longer period of time, i have only tried it out over a week. It did reduce dryness and sensitivity in my skin, so that tight uncomfortable feeling was reduced after using it.

However, my biggest complaint with this products is the oily shine it gives to your face when worn alone, if you did want to wear it without foundation on top I would suggest topping it off with a good loose powder. Even though it provided a bit of an oily look, I didn’t have any problems with breakouts while using the product. Probably beacause your skin is a little more forgiving to natural ingredients, like the ones used in this product.
Top Hand with Dermalogica's Ultra Sensitive Tint SPF30, Bottom Hand Without.
You can notice the top hand appears more tanned.
Coverage: 1/5
Irritation: 0/5
Longevity: 4/5
Moisture: 2/5
Overall Rating: 3/5
RRP: Ultra Sensitive Tint SPF30 50ml - $57.00AUD

I Think the thing to keep in mind is that this product really is a moisturiser not a BB cream. It is a great product for those with sensitive skin or those who usually find products with heavy SPF factors clog your pores.

Do you use any Dermalogica products?
