LookFantastic.com First purchase Haul

Last Week i made my first ever purchase on Lookfantastic.com, a British based beauty website. They sell high end to drug store brands from around the Europe and America.

So is it cheaper then buying in store?
Yes and no, some items like OPI are around the same price in AUS as they are on lookfantastic, some items like Kerastase are a little cheaper. And then there are the brands that are super hard to find anywhere (i.e. nails inc)

The real trick with this website is to sign up to their email notifications, as they frequently have 25% sales and with free world wide shipping, it ends up a lot cheaper then buying the goods here. The package took about 2-3 weeks to reach me here in AUS.

Review - Organix nourishing coconut milk

As I bleach my hair a lot, my hair is very damaged and is prone to dry ends and breakage. I love products like argan oil which is super moisturising and very good for your hair when you get the pure argan oils (like Moroccan oil).

However, there are two problems with argan oil, 

1. It is a very heavy oil, so wearing it everyday really makes your hair look flat and limp and 
2. The dark yellow colour can leave lighter blonde/silver hair with some brassy tones.

I have been looking for an alternative that I can use on the ends of my hair and wear everyday. I heard a few people have started using coconut oil, which is a clear lightweight oil.

Coconut oil has been getting such a good rep lately for all kinds of beauty delimas and it makes a good alternative to olive oil for cooking.

I decided to try out the Organix cocnut hair oil, which comes in a small pump bottle, 118ml for about $18. The  brand includes  vanilla oil, and argan oil range of shampoos and hair serums each boosting slightly different benefits.

New hair!

As some of you already know, i got my hair done at the end of last week. It took me ages to get my hair redone after that horrible experience where the hair dresser dyed my hair green! mainly because  i had to let my hair heal, because she seriously damaged it and i wanted to try and get most of the green out first.

This time round i went to John Brennan in Chatswood, they did the best job! they were super friendly and really helpful. i wanted to get two shade of highlights put in my hair, and they were so good with what two shades would work best with the colour my hair was and my skin tone.

It is so rare to actual see a hairdresser that knows what they are talking about. I was pleasantly surprised.
I went for a medium - dark ash blonde this time, and i actually really love the colour on me.

 I'm also loving the braided bun look atm as well.

If you live in Sydney i would defiantly suggest trying the John Brennan Salon in Chatswood, they are soo good, especially for the price! And ask for Sunny, best colourest I've had!

Audrey inspired hair

Audrey Hepburn inspired hair

I love Audrey Hepburn, she is absolutely gorgeous! and her style was so elegant and timeless.

So as it is summer here and wearing your hair out is not really a sensible option most of the time and pony tails and buns just get a bit boring. I love to pull my hair back into this Audreyesque style, its super easy, take about 2 mins and is perfect for the office!

So the whole idea is to sweep the hair back with an elevated crown.

If your going to wear this style all day i defiantly suggest back combing the top section of hair.

 How to:

1. Divide you hair into 4 sections, top, 2 sides and a back. If your hair is super thin like mine you probably don't need the back section.
 2.Grab the top middle section of your hair, this is what you will sweep over to get the 'bump'
3. Back comb or tease the bottom side of this section, if you are after more height you can back comb the hair at the crown of your head as well.
4. holding the top section at the crown of your head sweep the hair left at either side back and up to meet it.
5. the back: you can finish however you like by twisting your hair into a bun, or just securing it with a butterfly clip.
I like to get the shorter sections at the front and work them free so they can sit around my face.

Product Review: O&M - seven day miracle moisture masque

I got the O&M (Original and mineral) seven day miracle moisture masque for free with my last hair appointment, probably because i spend too much money there!

I've mentioned before that i dye my hair blonde, which has really damaged my hair. Its not that it feels coarse, but the hair does tend to break a fair bit.

I'm always up for trying different hair masks, and beauty products that are free from harsh chemicals so i i am really looking forward to using this one. All O&M products are natural, that is they are free from things like sulfates and parabens. A lot of the product range has won awards, this particular one has one for 'Best new product'.

Pantene night miracle - Review

Pantene was kind enough to give me a bottle of their new Night Miracle serum to test out.

My hair is super dry and damaged from bleaching it blonde for years!  so I am always super keen to try out anything that will add moisture or protect my hair from further damage.

I will start by saying i am not a big fan of Pantene products and never really have been, i always found that they leave my hair oily and doesn't actually clean the hair properly. But with all this promotion of a new formula for Pantene it might not be the product i remember.
