Dove's Ad Makeover campaign

Dove has recently launched its Facebook Campaign 'Ad Makeover' Dove has designed a Facebook app which lets you replace unwanted Facebook ads with those of positive body image messages.

I personally think its a fantastic idea! All too often like i'm sure many women do, i have a 'fat' day, where i just feel so blah and the idea of wearing anything figure hugging or remotely tight make me just want to crawl up in bed and face the world another not so fat day .

And when you are bombarded by weight loss ads all over the internet and super skinny airbrushed models everywhere you look, its no wonder many of us suffer from the dreaded 'fat' day.

You can view the campaign video below and i encourage all of you to give it a go, send some much needed love to other women!

Sponsored Review - Pricelines Hello Kitty line

Priceline  very kindly gave me a pack of Hello Kitty goodies a few days ago and with their super cute packaging I was very keen to try the products.

The package contained: two eye-shadows, 1 pressed powder, lipstick, pencil and a liquid eyeliner, lip balm and a nail polish. All the packaging has a super cute hello kitty design, which make them hard to resist. But  I have always thought that these types of products, ones endorsed by a cartoon or similar are have fairly cute packaging but the product itself is very lacking!

I have tested out the products that priceline sent from this range and was pleasantly surprised by some of them!

Review - Organix nourishing coconut milk

As I bleach my hair a lot, my hair is very damaged and is prone to dry ends and breakage. I love products like argan oil which is super moisturising and very good for your hair when you get the pure argan oils (like Moroccan oil).

However, there are two problems with argan oil,
  1. It is a very heavy oil, so wearing it everyday really makes your hair look flat and limp and
  2. The dark yellow colour can leave lighter blonde/silver hair with some brassy tones.

I have been looking for an alternative that I can use on the ends of my hair and wear everyday. I heard a few people have started using coconut oil, which is a clear lightweight oil.
Coconut oil has been getting such a good rep lately for all kinds of beauty delimas and it makes a good alternative to olive oil for cooking.

I decided to try out the Organix cocnut hair oil, which comes in a small pump bottle, 118ml for about $18. The  brand includes  vanilla oil, and argan oil range of shampoos and hair serums each boosting slightly different benefits.

Canmake Melty Nude Lipstick 01 review

I have always wanted to try one of Canmakes Melty nude lipsticks, as they boost moisturising properties, and as someone with dry lips this always sounded very appealing.

If you havn’t heard of Canmake, it is a Japanese drug store cosmetics brand, it would be kind of like the equivalent of Australias here.

So I finally gave in when I was in Hong Kong and Bought one for around $8AUD, which is a pretty good price for a lipstick. The range comes in a few different colours, with a nudes, pink and a peach colour. Lately I have been moving more towards the nude lip look rather then the baby pink lips I usually go for.

at first look the lipstick is a good size, with a cool diamond pattern on the actual stick, which I have now come to hate as it makes asmotth application impossible. The product does have the normal constancy of a lipstick but it doesn’t seem to seap into the cracks on your lips as much as anormal lippie will.

I did find that it coms off fairly quickly tho, so you do need to reapply it every 2 hours or so, which does get pretty annoying.

Colour wise, it is a true nude colour, maybe a bit dark for my skin tone but I still rather like the colour.
Over all there is nothing special about this product, I’ll definitely use it but its not worth repurchasing.
